Would a bad freshman year in high school have a large effect on my chances at the Ivy League Universities?

I think that your gpa is fine as long as you recover next year pulling 3.8+ you seem like a very bright kid if what ou wrote is true. And if it is true give school your all and if basketball gets in te way of ivy league I would cut it especially if there were scholarships involved. Give your all and I promise things will always come out 10x better
