How do i start to shop for clothes and shoes that are more girly and fashionable?

i have always been more the tomboy type and liked to watch baseball/basketball games. my style has just been t-shirts with jeans/jean shorts, along with either sneakers or flip flops for summer time. ..now, i'm going into college, and i want to grow up a little bit. i would like to dress a little bit more feminine. i know they say you have to dress comfy for college, but still, i think there are many women that dress comfy as well as feminine. i would like to be like this. i think i can still watch my games and go to college, switching to a feminine style. the only issue is i don't know exactly which clothes are good looking and bad looking. i mean, i like stuff on other women; they look good, and i would like to be like them, i'm just not sure what to pick out.. how do i start doing that?
